Elijah Wood, star of Peter Jackson's The Lord Of The Rings and it's sequels, has been confirmed via his publicist, to return in The Hobbit. The star's character does not turn up in the original book, but the director Peter Jackson has apparently found a way to weave him in, just like the returning Cate Blanchett. It's my bet that the casting of Wood, along with the upcoming shoot date for The Hobbit, is the tip of the iceberg. Until December 2012, when the film is due for release, this is going to be all anyone talks about. Oh god, it's like the original trilogy all over again!*
