It's been up in the air for a few weeks now as to whether Disney is happy enough with Tron: Legacy's box office performance to green light another sequel. Despite opening at rather disappointing numbers, the long awaited sequel did eventually hit over the $150 million mark in the US alone. Then this week, Harry Knowles over at AICN got word that a teaser trailer for Tron 3 had been preemptively shot and cut for the DVD and Blu-Ray release of Tron: Legacy. I guess Disney must have figured it was on to a winner, but still, this indicates that if they are putting the teaser on the discs then it's pretty certain, if not fact that we will see the Tron world one more time at least. Harry also grabbed two images of the trailer shoot (check them out below). I was fairly happy with Tron: Legacy (great music, fantastic SFX work) so I'll greet a sequel with open arms.
