Author Chuck Palahniuk (Fight Club) has just posted on his blog that the first three pieces of casting for the adaptation of his book, Snuff, are; Daryl Hannah (Kill Bill), Tom Sizemore (Saving Private Ryan) and Thora Birch (Ghost World). Hannah will play an aging porn star who decides to hold the mother of all record attempts; lay 600 dudes in the world's largest, er, group...sex...event. If you've read the book, which I have, then you'll know how absolutely sleazy, grimy, sweaty and altogether filthy the material is, so it'll be interesting to see how it crosses over into mainstream cinema. It'll be directed by Fabien Martorell, who, from his IMDB page, has only done a documentary for Troma Studios (which, given the subject matter of Snuff, doesn't surprise me at all). But if I'm being honest, the book is cool and any friend of Troma is a friend of mine, so, I welcome this adaptation with open arms.
