Before Tron: Legacy hit, Disney assaulted us with various posters, trailers, teasers, articles, clips, etc etc. While I was very excited for the sequel, I know many people were bugged by it's massive advertising campaign. Now that the film has come and gone (recouping just $171 million of it's $170 million budget in the United States) the fate of Tron 3 will be decided over the next few weeks. Disney is apparently waiting to see if the blockbuster sequel will have a large impact in the Home Video arena, and if it does, Joseph Kosinski will once again helm (apparently...it's not set in stone). Coming Soon recently sat down with the director to chat about where he'd like to go with the sequel. He explains, "if we do another one we owe it, I think, to the Tron legacy to figure out what's the next frontier. And how are we going to push the story further. How are we going to push the technology?". When asked about what we can expect on the Blu-Ray release of the flick, Kosinski says, "There's alot of great behind-the-scenes stuff. People, I think, are going to start to appreciate what went into making this movie". While he doesn't reveal any concrete details of a sequel, he remains hopeful, "On the next one we'll be able to push it even further".
