Most people were relieved when Darren Aronofsky pulled out of 'The Wolverine' - I know I was. With Black Swan such a unique and successful film, it would have been a shame to see him go on to do a sequel to a terrible comic-book movie that nobody really asked for (no matter how he did it). No, people expected him to go down the more original route and luckily, it looks like he will be.
Slashfilm are reporting that a budget is being worked out now for Human Nature, a sci-fi film about a man who wakes up in the future from being frozen. Annoyingly for him, he wakes up in a time when humans are now pets of another species. Now, picture that, with George Clooney, all under Aronofsky's direction. AMAZING!
Of course he has lots of potential projects lined up, particularly his Noah's Arc story which he wrote as a child and has, apparently, massive potential. But if Danny Ocean himself was to commit to Human Nature, you can be sure that it would move right to the top of the list. The script has supposedly been around near fifteen years, so obviously Aronofsky won't be the first director to look at it. Here's hoping he goes for it though.
