The first shot for Timur Bekmambetov's (Wanted) new flick, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter has just hit the net, via the NYTimes. The shot gives us our first glimpse at Benjamin Walker in his Abe make-up, as the 29 year old actor plays both the young and old version of the titular character. Joining Walker is Rufus Sewell (Dark City), Dominic Cooper (Captain America: The First Avenger) and Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Grindhouse).
While I've never read the book, the Seth-Grahame Smith written story sounds fantastically bonkers. Budgeted at $70 million, I'm skeptical as to whether the film will be R-Rated, but in the end, the chance to catch Honest Abe slaughtering the undead in 3D just can't be turned down regardless.
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter hits Irish cinemas August 22nd, 2012.
