Today certainly seems to be the day to launch the teaser trailer for your remake. Just earlier I posted a quick article with a link to the Fright Night 3D trailer (which is a remake of a 1985 horror comedy), and now Yahoo! have unleashed the first trailer to Rod Laurie's remake of the 1971 home-invasion classic, Straw Dogs. I'm not going to describe the plot, as the trailer pretty much explains the entire movie. Which brings me to this; these days are Hollywood studios using trailers to market the stars rather than the movie? This particular trailer seems to be full to the brim of shirtless True Blood actor Alexander Skarsgard, not to mention a scantily clad Kate Bosworth. Rather than hold back and give us a rough idea of the story, it's simply a blueprint of every set piece; exploding cars, shoot outs, attractive stars, etc. Hmm. Anyway, check out the trailer below.
