A very interesting project is just over the horizon. Variety announced yesterday that Drafthouse Films and Magnet Releasing are teaming up for a 26-part Horror series called The ABC's Of Death. Each part will be a short genre piece by an individual director. Not only that, but the website broke the news of which directors are joining; and there's some serious talent on the list. They are as follows; Jake West (Evil Aliens), Srdjan Spasojevic (A Serbian Film), Thomas Malling (Norwegian Ninja), Jason Eisener (Hobo With A Shotgun), Yoshihiro Nishimura (Tokyo Gore Police), Bruno Forzani (Amer), Angela Bettis (Roman), Banjong Pisanthanakun (Shutter), Ti West (The House Of The Devil), Nacho Vigalando (TimeCrimes), Marcel Sarmiento (Dead Girl), Ernesto Diaz Espinoza (Mirageman), Simon Rumley (Red, White & Blue), Tak Sakaguchi (Yakuza Weapon), Andrew Traucki (Black Water), Ben Wheatley (Down Terrace), Adam Wingard (A Horrible Way To Die), Timo Tjahanto (Macabre) and finally, Adrian Garcia Bogliano (Cold Sweat).
All the films in brackets (bar Norwegian Ninja, Mirageman and Down Terrace) are worth a look if you're into the horror genre. The interesting thing about the project is that each director will be assigned a letter of the alphabet, which they must use to create their film.
