If you're playing the lead role in a big hit franchise, chances are you'll get approached to do the same with different franchises and brand names. It's become more common lately - Robert Downey Jr. is Iron Man & Sherlock, Christian Bale is Batman & Grizzly John Connor, and even Proper Thesp Daniel Craig is James Bond and an Alien Killin' Cowboy. It's no surprise then, after the rave reviews and great performance that Chris Hemsworth is reaping the rewards of Thor.
Latest news (via Showblitz) is that he's in line for the huntsman role in Snow White & The Huntsman, a role previously vacated by Viggo Mortensen and Hugh Jackman. The movie, coming in December 2012 (quite a while after the first Snow White movie, starring Julia Roberts), stars Kirsten Stewart as Snow White and Charlize Theron as the evil queen who wants her blood. This is where Hemsworth's character would come in. It's not confirmed yet that he'll do it, and indeed could be risky move. Whilst 'scheduling' may be the reason for the other cancellations, could the movie itself be pretty weak? The odds of two Snow White movies being huge hits are pretty slim, but should he take it, have no doubt Hemsworth will do well in the role. We'll see him in 2012 reprising his God role in The Avengers.
Incidentally, I know he has dabbled in other franchises - he was Capt. Kirk's dad in Star Trek - but he didn't lead it!
