I've noticed a sharp increase as of late in the number of quality shorts and features being produced throughout Ireland. It's exciting to see homegrown talent potentially hit a home run and hopefully get the opportunity to showcase their work to the rest of the world, thus increasing the likelihood of the Irish dominating the world. Er..
Anyway, a Cork produced WWII thriller, titled The Kid, is set to premiere tonight in the cities Pavilion Bar. The film tells the story of a soldier, who while seperated from his squad, finds a lost child in the wilderness of Normandy during the legendary D-Day. The soldier then takes it upon himself to rescue the child from the surrounding danger and seek safety amidst the chaos. The film will begin at 8pm, and tickets are free, so get your ass to the city and support the Cork cinema scene.
