Insidious was, to many, one of the surprise hits of the year so far. Despite a fairly standard haunted house/child setup, the movie hit it big at the box office, making 75million on a miniscule million-dollar budget. So it’s absolutely no surprise that the director, James Wan, is sticking with horror for his next movie.
Variety are reporting that Wan is almost a lock to direct “The Conjuring”, which is not only another horror but another haunted house horror. As is custom for the majority of horror movies these days, it’s apparently based on a true story of a family who were haunted on a regular basis in the 1970s. Sounds like a pretty simple premise, but then again that’s what Insidious had and it was actually a pretty decent, fun little horror movie. So with that in mind, this could turn out to be another hit!
