Looks like we won’t be seeing Dick Tracy 2 any time soon then! Recently it was reported that legendary actor/director Warren Beatty was planning a return to the business after a very long break, with a comedy he both wrote and plans to direct. Now Deadline confirm that that movie is actually based on billionaire Howard Hughes, the subject of The Aviator (and, allegedly, Chris Nolan’s next movie).
Little else is known other than Beatty will play Hughes and it will apparently revolve around an affair in his later life. That makes sense – Beatty is in his seventies. What’s interesting the list of names tentatively tipped for roles; Andrew Garfield, Alec Baldwin, Annette Bening, Shia La Beouf, Jack Nicholson, Evan Rachel Wood and Rooney Mara. No matter what movie it is, there are some superb actors there – this is definitely going to be one to look out for.
