Last year, the Weinstein Company announced they'd be hitting their vaults to dig up old franchises in hopes of re-animating them for box-office gold. After all, how hard is it to sell a product everyone already loves? Variety got wind of their latest announcement, which sees release dates set for various franchise entries. April 20th will see the release of Scary Movie 5, following that on October 26th, Halloween 3D hits our screens. Although not mentioned in the press release, TWC are also currently in pre-production with their reboot of the Hellraiser franchise. Patrick Lussier and Todd Farmer (Drive Angry, My Bloody Valentine) are currently writing the screenplay.
