For a while, zombie movie World War Z looked like it was destined for the land of development hell, and would remain a much-rumoured about movie for years to come. However, salvation has come in the form of extra funding that means the 80 million dollar post-apocalyptic blockbuster is getting the go ahead, and production has begun.
Slashfilm are reporting that a big chunk of the movie will be shot later in the year in Glasgow, with the city doubling for the zombie-ravaged streets of Philadelphia as the movie looks at accounts of how us puny humans got on in a heated zombie war. Brad Pitt is producing as well as starring, and with production moving at a quick pace it looks like we’ll finally see the movie on our screens sooner rather than later. The above picture isn’t from the movie, but is concept art by a designer called Daniel LuVisi who used it to try get hired for the actual film. Nifty.
