Remember when adapting Transformers seemed like an insane idea for film franchise? Times have indeed changed and now it seems absolutely nothing is safe from potential blockbustering. Recently we heard Cabbage Patch Kids are getting the screen treatment and now there is word that uber-successful iphone game, Angry Birds, is going to the cinema.
Hold on though, as it’s not so crazy when you think about it. There was already a tie-in with hit movie Rio this year, and game developer Rovio is looking at Marvel as a model studio when it comes to developing and selling franchises. The game, which is dangerously addictive, is a pretty blank canvas story wise so there’s lots to be done here. Whilst it may sound barrell-scraping, at least it’s not as bad as the much-rumoured Sims movie…..
