It seems Han Solo has got a taste for genre-hybrids after this summer’s Cowboys & Aliens! Proving he isn’t anywhere close to retirement just yet, he’s just signed on to play Wyatt Earp in an adaptation of the novel Black Hats, which sees Earp in his later years as an LA detective searching for gangster supremo Al Capone.
Sounds pretty tantalising, yes? I’ve yet to see Cowboys & Aliens, but we all know Ford can deliver with the right material. It’s great to see him staying away from “I want my family back” stuff for a while too. The movie will be written by Kurt Johnstad who will get to work when finished writing the follow up to 300, Battle for Artemisia.
