With the $54 million opening weekend for Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes, it's no surprise the word sequel is being thrown around right now. And in a brief interview with Entertainment Weekly, screenwriters Amanda Silver and Rick Jaffa spoke about where they'd like to take the sequel. When asked about the possibility of the character Taylor (originally played by Charlton Heston) returning to the franchise, the couple said, "We definitely have ideas about that! What better plant can you put in a script than, 'Oh my God, Taylor's going up again!'".
Later, when asked as to what name they'd give the sequel, Jaffa hints at Revenge. So could we be seeing Revenge Of The Planet Of The Apes in theaters in 2014? I absolutely hope so.
By the way, if you haven't seen Rise yet, it's in cinemas now. Go!
