Yes, we don't normally cover true stories and the scandal that surrounds everyday life in Hollywood, but this I had to share with you all. On August 11th of this year in a Beverly Hills talent agency, the LAPD bomb disposal unit carried out a controlled explosion on an unknown briefcase believed to contain a bomb. The briefcase had been left in the office by a wishful screenwriter who'd hoped to get his script read by a rep in the agency. Unfortunately, rather than just leave the script, he left his briefcase and laptop too, so the police had no choice but to evacuate the surrounding buildings and literally, explode the script. The man was later detained but was released shortly there after.
We can take two things from this story; firstly let this be a lesson to you budding writers, push the agent to hard and he might just call the police to destroy your shit. And secondly, wouldn't it be wonderfully ironic if his screenplay had been an action thriller centering on a bomb threat?
