The X-Men star is going though a winning streak right now, with acclaim for his role as Magneto alongside praise at film festivals for his role in Steve McQueen’s new movie, Shame. So it’s natural for the rumour mill to be spinning at full speed, and for him to be connected to every single role going. The latest is that of Robocop in Jose Padhila’s upcoming remake…
The director hinted at it during the weekend, but has since clarified that all he said was that “he’s great” (via slashfilm). So whilst he didn’t deny that Fassbender is a talent to watch, he didn’t say that he had approached or offered him the role, either. However, you could see it working, couldn’t you? The remake is still a long way off, but that Padhila even suggested Fassbender is pretty promising, and I wouldn’t discount the idea just yet.
