Kerry Washington (The Last King of Scotland, Ray and Mr. & Mrs. Smith) has snagged the female leading role in Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained. Tarantino apparently made his choice as late as last night, and the studio immediately began negotiations with the actress. Washington will play Broomhilda, the abused slave whose married to the titular hero, Django. Washington will join the previously cast Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio, Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Christoph Waltz, Tom Savini, M.C. Gainey, Laura Cayouette and Don Johnson.
