Production of Brad Pitt's latest movie, World War Z, has hit a snag as warehouses storing props for the production were raided by a Hungarian SWAT team. The SWAT team, from Hungary's elite anti-terrorism unit, claim that a number of weapons imported for the shoot were in fact real, as opposed to the replica 'non-functional' guns used in normal productions, for cost and safety reasons. Neither Paramount or Pitt's own production company, Plan B, have commented on the story; however it would appear that the Hungarian authorities are taking the incident seriously "Guns like these are highly illegal to transport even if they were to used as stage guns, which hopefully they weren't," Hajdu Janos and Zsolt Bodnar, director and deputy director of Hungary's anti-terrorist force, told Us Weekly.
World War Z, based on the best-selling book by Max Brooks is currently filming in Hungary, with director Marc Forster at the helm. World War Z tells the story of a journalist (Pitt) who travels the world interviewing survivors in the wake of the titular war.
