After years in development hell, it would appear that Mad Max: Fury Road is back on track. George Miller, director of the original trilogy has been trying to get a new instalment greenlit for years, working on a number of other features, including the Happy Feet series, in the meantime. It would appear however that the Australian born director has finally gotten his way, with Tom Hardy telling The Daily Beast that he's due to start training for the role in March. Tom Hardy, star of the recent Warrior and Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy is set to take up the role of the infamous Road Warrior played in the original trilogy by Mel Gibson.
The original Mad Max, saw Mel Gibson's lawman seek vengeance on a biker group that killed his family. While the sequels lost their way a bit, the original is still a classic piece of post apocalyptic cinema. Fury Road is also set to star Charlize Theron and should hopefully start filming over the coming months.
