Shame, the follow up to Hunger by director Steve McQueen, has been the recipient of a whole lot of buzz this year since it was shown on the festival circuit. Apparently quite a dark, yet brilliant, film, it focuses on a man in New York played by Michael Fassbender and his addiction to sex. The movie also features Carey Mulligan as his sister and has garnered much praise for their performances, along with many headlines due to the apparent abundance of sex and nudity. “Careful now” etc.
Here’s the first poster (below), which I think is fantastic – it’s definitely memorable and distinctive. Hunger was a great piece of work so Shame is definitely one to watch this year.
