When it comes to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise, I'm torn. I enjoy the first two (love the OTT second, while recognizing the first is a classic) and the third film (featuring Viggo Mortensen) is a bit of fun, too. That said, TCM: The Next Generation, the remake and the remake's prequel are all terrible films. So is it a bad idea to get excited about a new Texas Chainsaw flick? Probably, but this one does have a few things going for it. Firstly, it's a sequel to the original 1974 film. It's apparently supposed to pick up mere moments after that film, so if that's true, it'll be interesting to see. Secondly, Bill Moseley from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, has landed one of the lead roles. It seems like Lionsgate and director John Luessenhop are trying their best to make a decent TCM flick, so I guess I can't help but be pulled into the hype.
