I first recall playing this on the good ol Spectrum 48K. And then a few years later in an arcade in Swansea of all places. It’s always nice to see the big brother version in action as opposed to the home version. Rampage has always had a special place in my heart. And now, New Line are starting to put the tool box together for work on a Rampage movie. In case you don’t know, Rampage saw a giant lizard, wolfman and gorilla thunder around various cities causing mayhem and demolishing buildings and eating anything that moved. If their energy hit zero, they transformed into their original human status.
Over the years, video game adapts have never been good. The occasional are watchable, but none are memorable (with the exception of Bob Hoskins as Mario, OBVIOUSLY…AHEM!). Rampage could well be the first one to get it right. After all how hard would it be to get a bunch of monsters smash up entire cities for 90 minutes.
