Soderburgh leaves the man from U.N.C.L.E
Director Steven Soderbergh has walked away from The Man from U.N.C.L.E, Soderbergh has abandoned the project over casting issues; the project has failed to land star names for the roles of Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin. In recent weeks, Bradley Cooper turned down the role as well as George Clooney who had to decline because he sustained a back injury. The proposed movie budget was also thought to be an issue with the director it was rumoured to have been set at Sixty Million Dollars. With the movie scheduled to start shooting in March next year, the studio will be anxious to find a big name replacement for the director’s chair as well as the lead roles. Who they will hire now is anybody’s guess as rumour’s linking Michael Fassbender and also Johnny Depp have resulted in nothing as yet. With Soderbergh now gone, the task may well be next to impossible.
