Opening figures for the remake of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo has grossed $1.6 million so far but is likely to increase once the final numbers come in. Sony is hoping that it will be the number one alternative to other Christmas themed movies. The movie which has an “R” rating in the states is being marketed to other target audiences as well as the over 25’s of which there is equal interest in both men and women research has found. Girl with the Dragon Tattoo was officially supposed to open on 21st December but was moved a night earlier to the 22nd instead. Impressive figures indeed and the signs are all looking good at a movie which has stirred alot of interest, particularly in light of the popular trilogy already made. The movie stars Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara and Comparisons are inevitable but this looks set to break a few records.
