Bad news for the Anime (Manga? Sorry) fans. According to an insider, crew that were working on the movie has been told to stop work and go home. The production offices in Vancouver are being closed. The plan for the next few weeks will be to iron out the script. And, the small matter of money is up for discussion as well. According to insiders (they’re everywhere) the goal is to get the budget down from its ballpark $90 mill to something far more reasonable in the $60mill to $70 mill range.
Failing all that, it could well be lights out for Akira!
