You know that iPhone that’s either constantly attached to your ear or resting on your lap as you hurl some colourful birds at a bunch of pigs? Well, quite alot of people are turning their iPhones into movie cameras. There is a real fantastic selection of short movies here from aspiring movie makers. Well worth some of your time. And don’t worry, the pigs and birds aren’t going anywhere.
The Original iPhone Film Festival will announce the Grand Prize winning film at the Macworld|iWorld Expo in San Francisco on January 26th, 2012. OIFF Founders Corey Rogers & Matt Dessner will be joined by Macworld Magazine Editorial Director Jason Snell on the Macworld LIVE! stage at 3p PST to discuss iPhone filmmaking and showcase some of the short iPhone films from its inaugural competition. The session will be live streamed on both macworld.com and ustream.tv
The voting for the Grand Prize film is underway: film and iPhone enthusiasts from around the world can choose their favorite finalist for the Grand Prize at http://www.originaliphonefilmfest.com/show.html until January 24th. The winner will receive a Macbook Air sponsored by Vericorder.

The Original iPhone Film Festival was developed to bring together and showcase the films of the iPhone filmmaker community and encourage aspiring filmmakers to tell their stories by utilizing the “film studio in their pocket” – the cutting-edge Apple iOS devices that break down the barriers to personal filmmaking.
To further support and nurture this unique iPhone filmmaker community, OIFF is expanding the website with a new iPhoneFilmmaker Blog and future additions including user forums, iPhone filmmaking tips, recommended accessories, apps and post production how-tos, a content showcase and future events & contests.
