Dream Works animation has announced that it has struck a worldwide video game publishing agreement with D3Publisher. This follows gaming firm THQ who had recently said it was to leave the kids entertainment license business. D3Publisher have secured the rights to develop and publish games which are based on upcoming projects such as Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted and Rise of the Guardians, both which are scheduled for this year, and The Croods in 2013.
"D3Publisher has a wealth of experience in both the creative development and marketing of family friendly licensed games," said Chris Hewish, head of global interactive for DWA. "This, along with their proven track record makes them an ideal interactive partner for our next three films." Bill Anker, Vice Principal of business development and licensing, D3 Publishing had this to say:
"The upcoming video games based on the DreamWorks Animation films truly fit our commitment to making fun games that are enjoyable and accessible for the whole family across many platforms and handhelds." Interesting times ahead and a move which is sure to keep profits healthy.
