Laurence Fishburne is set to star in a futuristic cannibalistic thriller called The Colony, set against a very snowy backdrop. The story is about a group of survivors who try their best to wait it out in an ice age, as if sub zero temperatures weren’t enough to contend with , they also have to evade the clutches of a group of cannibals. The film is being shot in Toronto with a view to a finish around March, Fishburne’s role hasn’t been made clear yet at this stage but looks to be ably assisted in the acting stakes by Kevin Zegers, he of Transamerica and Frozen. The project is being directed by Jeff Renfroe, with Alcina Pictures backing the film which has been described as being in the indie bracket but still has a sizeable 16 Million Dollars for the budget, all going well. It’s been a while since we’ve seen Fishburne in anything, although he is signed up for the role of Perry White, Clark Kent’s boss in the upcoming Man of Steel, so we will keep an eye on this one.
