Hot on the heels of the new that a sequel to Robert Rodriguez's "Mexploitation" movie Machete was close to going in front of a camera, comes this sales poster for Machete Kills currently circulating the European Film Market in Berlin. It certainly lets you know the tone of the film, and Danny Trejo looks like a man you don't want to mess with. More so than usual.
The middle part of a planned trilogy, you get the feeling that the craziness will be ramped from the story outline, which has Machete teaming up with the American government to take on an arms dealer with control over a satellite weapon. I'm pretty sure that's the plot from Moonraker. Could Rodriguez's plan be to turn his character into a Mexican James Bond?
While it is been billed as "Robert Rodriguez's Machete Kills", it hasn't been confirmed if he will direct, co-direct as he did with the original, or if he'll just produce. No release date has been given so far.
