All hope seemed lost back in December of last year when the project was put on hold but now it seems it is definitely out of the picture, (pun intended) Alex Proyas’ take on Paradise Lost has been abandoned by Legendary Pictures. The movie which was inspired by a John Milton poem and had Stuart Hazeldine among others contributing to the script, reports suggest that the project’s budget became a problem and contributed to its downfall as the studio feared it simply wouldn’t be possible as the visual cost would escalate. In hindsight it is easy to see why the movie was going to be expensive; the visual effects that were needed to bring epic battles featuring angels and heavenly visions. It is a shame though as the crew were beginning to assemble even though the project hadn’t received full confirmation of it going ahead. The cast would have featured Bradley Cooper, Benjamin Walker, Casey Affleck and Djimon Hounsou and who wouldn’t want to see a cast like that? After these recent setbacks it is highly unlikely that it will get resurrected but hey you never know...
