Originally to be an Aardman Animation called Crood Awakening, with John Cleese on the writing staff, The Croods is the newest animated move from Dreamworks and co directed by Chris Sanders, the man who brought us Lilo and Stitch (my favorite Disney movie) and How To Train Your Dragon, and Kirk DeMicco. They also wrote the script. Not much has been seen of the film, but a new poster has just been released.
Featuring the vocal talents of Nicholas Cage, Ryan Renyolds, Emma Stone and Catherine Keener, the film takes us back to the previously unknown Croodacious period, when Mother Nature was still experimenting, and plants and animals had yet to evolve into what we know today. At the centre of the story is a family, the Croods, who struggle to survive this ever changing world. A very interesting idea, and it should definitely keep the kids happy.
The film is set for release on the 22nd March 2013.
