After the very impressive promo video last week, the viral marketing for Ridley Scott's Prometheus is getting into full swing, with visitors to the film's Facebook page finding a link to the Weyland Industries website, the fictional company from the movie. Clicking on it, they find themselves face to face with this image. To get the full scope of it, you really have to see it full screen.
I am not entirely sure whats going on, but, damn, if it isn't impressive. It is of the Space Jockey chamber seen in Alien and the trailer for this film, that I am sure of, but is it a ship's piloting system, or a map of the universe, or something else entirely.
Synopsis:
Ridley Scott, director of “Alien” and “Blade Runner,” returns to the genre he helped define. With PROMETHEUS, he creates a ground-breaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.
Released: June 1st (U.K.,IRE)/June 8th (U.S.) 2012
