The newest film from Albert Hughes (one part of the Hughes Brothers, and co-director on From Hell and The Book Of Eli), Motor City follows a man, just released from jail, tracking down the people who double crossed him. Dominic Cooper was originally in the role for the lead, but had to drop out because of scheduling conflicts. The search for a new lead had been fast tracked, and now it looks like Jake Gyllenhaal is the likely choice, having entered negotiations to star in the film. If he gets the role, he will join Amber Heard and Gary Oldman, who will play a crime kingpin, the movie's bad guy.
The script, written by Chad St. John, is said to be very minimalist, with the lead character having little to no dialogue. The film is set to begin filming in Berlin in April.
