Ok, so while this isn’t about True Lies 2 or Avatar 5, we do like to keep up with what the one of the worlds finest directors and visionaries is up to. James Cameron has said that he is close to diving seven miles down to the deepest part of the ocean, which the informed of you will will know is the Mariana Trench in the western pacific.
The director and life long diving fan has already completed a test dive of just a mere 5 MILES, off the coast of Papua New Guinea.
In the next few weeks Cameron will climb into his one man submersible and do what only two others have done before him, which was back in the 1960s.
Speaking about the dive, he said “"The deep trenches are the last unexplored frontier on our planet, with scientific riches enough to fill 100 years of exploration."
And of course, his one man sub, “The Deepsea Challenge”, is kitted out with 3D cameras as the plan is to spend 6 hours exploring the bottom of the trench, and the footage will be used in a documentary based on the dive. And of course, the scientific community will benefit as well as samples will be collected and handed over.
Finally James Cameron spoke about building a scientific legacy for generations to come as well as providing inspiration to people around the globe "It's also to inspire people across the globe to celebrate exploration and to explore with us online and through the media we produce."
Inspiring indeed, and you gotta hand to the man, he’s got some serious set of balls!!!
