With the continued successful figures at the box office for The Muppets it has been reported that a sequel is in the works. Word is Disney has secured a deal for director James Bobin and co-writer Nicholas Stoller for another outing. However it is not certain if Jason Segel will be on board, this is due to work commitments, Segel who is working on TV show How I Met Your Mother and also working on promo duties for The Five Year Engagement. It is feasible that he could yet be on board if his schedule allows but nothing has been confirmed on that front. Disney will also be sweating on whether song writer and composer Brett McKenzie will also participate; the studio is expected to make a strong effort to make that happen as his songs helped make the movie extremely popular. The possible loss of Segel would be seen as a major blow, given his attention to detail in reviving the franchise for the big screen and being faithful to Jim Henson’s creations. All going well the guys will be back on board and we will see the gang back on our screens soon.
