Action Comics No. 1, the first appearance of Superman, is probably one of the most expensive comics of all. A copy these days would go for anything between $250,000 and $2.1 million. One such copy belonged to Nicholas Cage, and the theft of his copy is now being turned into a movie, Action No. 1, with a script by Reno 911 writers Robert Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon.
Cage, an avid Superman fan (he even named his son Kal-El, Superman's birth name), had his copy stolen in 2000, and it wasn't recovered till 2011 when it was found in a abandoned storage locker. It is believed it was later sold at auction for over $2 million. While the real life thief has never being discovered, the proposed movie will offer a Fanboys-like take on the story with a group of nerds banding together to orchestrate the heist.
While a part is being written with Cage in mind, it is unlikely that he will star.
