Walt Disney Studios are currently working on a biopic of Mary Poppins creator PL Travers, and the making of the classic Disney musical. Currently titled Saving Mr. Banks, the movie, from The Blindside director John Lee Hancock, will look at the real life 14 year battle it took Walt Disney to get the rights to the character from the Australian author. It has been said she was unhappy with the finished film, especially the animated sequences, and refused to sell any more of her works.
Emma Thompson is currently in talks to play Travers, with separate talks taking place with Tom Hanks to take the role of Walt Disney (the man, not the company).
