With Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy swinging into cinemas on the 3rd July in The Amazing Spiderman, we’re taking a look at the love interests of the greatest superheroes and wondering will they last?
Lois Lane
Lois is Superman's chief romantic interest and, for fifteen years was his wife. Like Superman's alter ego Clark Kent, she is a reporter for the Metropolis newspaper, The Daily Planet. They break up, they get back
together, but despite it all she never suspects that her beloved is in fact out there saving the world on a daily basis.
Will It Last: Lois and Clark have a bumpy ride, but there is a happy ending for them.
Pepper Potts
Iron Man’s love interest, Pepper is the right hand man to Tony Stark, helping him run Stark Industries and studying business administration.
Will It Last: Whilst Pepper is infatuated with both Iron Man and Tony Stark, she ends up marrying his chauffeur - Harold "Happy" Hogan.
Betty Ross
Betty dated Bruce Banner, lead scientist in her father's Super-Soldier Research program early on in the days. As time went on, Betty’s interest in Bruce waned, but she was always flattered by his desperate
devotion and perversely attracted to his savage Hulk persona.
Will It Last: With Betty administering the serum to herself and becoming a super-powered knockout, those 2 have serious anger issues to deal with before they can live happily ever after.
Selina Kyle aka Catwoman
Batman's feelings towards her are based on the fact that she's sort of a female version of himself: another dark, beautiful creature that prowls in the night. But not all is straight forward, years of training
have made her stealthy and agile as a world-class criminal, and her mastery of the martial arts makes her a formidable physical opponent.
Will It Last: Future does not look good for these 2 with Selina’s past undermining Batman’s trust in her.
Gwen Stacy
Gwen, a science major, seems to appreciate Peter's intellectual personality and is his first true love. But because of Peter's hidden life as Spider-Man, it was clear their love affair would never run smoothly.
Will It Last: No doubt we’ll find out when The Amazing Spider-man swings onto the big screen on July 3rd.
