Joe Cornish and Edgar Wright have been hard at work on their Ant-Man script, based on the Marvel comics character and founding member of The Avengers, for over five years, and now, finally, the project has been green lit by Marvel Studios, with Wright at the helm. Making the announcement at Comic-Con, the director went on to say he plan to adapt the classic story To Steal An Ant-Man, in which a thief, Scott Lang, steal the technology and suit of Ant-Man, Hank Pym, and uses the hero's size shrinking powers in an attempt to save the life of his ill daughter. Lang would later take up the mantle full time from Pym. This is in line with Wright saying for a long time his movie would feature two versions of the hero.
The movie is in very early stages of pre-production, with no actor selected to play either role, though Wright did show test footage he shot to give people a taste of what the movie will be like. With one shot said to show a miniature Ant-Man running up the barrel of a gun, it promises to be a lot of fun.
No release has been given as of yet.
