Based on the novel by Joe Hill, son of Stephen King, Horns tells the tale of Ig Parrish, who wakes up one morning to find his two large horns growing from his head, which make people feel compelled to divulge their deepest, darkest secrets to him. He then uses this new power to discover the truth behind the mysterious death of his girlfriend.
A film adaption of this dark, supernatural thriller has been on the cards for a while now, with Alexandre Aja (Piranha 3D, High Tension) at the helm. Shia LaBeouf was in line to portray Ig, but has since dropped out. The role has now been filled by Daniel Radcliffe, again taking a role a million miles away from Harry Potter.
The book is a fantastic read, a dark mix of fantasy and crime fiction, and while I think Aja is an odd choice, he does seem passionate enough about the project to do it justice.
