With less than a year to go till its release, Guillermo Del Toro has been keeping things regarding Pacific Rim very close to his chest, teasing us with images of the cast, but keeping the good stuff to himself, namely the giant robots and monsters that the film revolves around. Now, thanks to this special 'comic con art' poster, we get our first look at the heroic mechs, or Jaeger's, as they are known in the movies universe.
First off, this image proves that there is nothing cooler than two men standing on the shoulder of a giant robot. Second, the design of the Jaeger is fantastic. I thought the designers would go crazy with the Jaegers, but this looks like it could actually exist. And I love the anime vibe I get off it.
The film will feature at Warner Bros. panel at the San Diego Comic Con, which starts next week, so expect to hear more very soon.

The film stars Charlie Hunnam (TV’s “Sons of Anarchy”), Idris Elba (“Thor”), Rinko Kikuchi (“The Brothers Bloom”), Charlie Day (“Horrible Bosses”), and Ron Perlman (the “Hellboy” films). The ensemble cast also includes Max Martini, Robert Kazinsky, Clifton Collins, Jr., Burn Gorman, Larry Joe Campbell, Diego Klattenhoff, and Brad William Henke.
Del Toro’s behind-the-scenes team includes Academy Award®-winning director of photography Guillermo Navarro, production designer Andrew Neskoromny, editor Peter Amundson, and costume designer Kate Hawley.
