As expected, The Dark Knight Rises is doing some big business in the box office. So far, Stateside, Christopher Nolan’s trilogy finale has pulled in $160,887,295 and European grosses are hovering around the $88,000,000 mark for a grand total of $248,887,295. It’s opening day gross was over $75 million putting it in 3rd position all time opening days, being $5 million below the Avengers and $16 million behind Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2.
Compared to the other Nolan Bat movies, The Dark Knight rises is in the top spot, earning $2 million more on opening weekend compared to The Dark Knight and a whopping $112 million more than Batman Begins. The next week or 2 will be interesting as repeat viewings start happening and it’ll be a longer wait to see will The Dark Knight Rises break the billion dollar barrier.
