The Avengers hits shelves in Blu-Ray and DVD form in September, promising a wealth of extras. The whet our appetite, here is a look at an alternate opening for the movie. It certainly creates a darker tone than the original, and promises a decidedly different character arc for Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders). I prefer the original, it started the movie off with a bang, but this is still an interesting look at what might have been.
