In probably the greatest piece of news since Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg, and Nick Frost reuniting for The Worlds End, comes the announcement that Paddy Considine will be joining the cast, his second time working with the team since Hot Fuzz. He will be one of the main cast of actors, and while no proper details have been revealed about the role, his character has been described as a former ladies man and musician who has grown up to be a divorced architect.
While I have been excited for the third part of Wright's Cornetto trilogy for quite a while, the inclusion of Considine, a fantastic actor in his own right, has just about pushed me over the edge.
Synopsis: 20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hell bent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King, a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their home town and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub, The World’s End.
As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.
