Looking for something to fill the void Twilight has left behind and The Hunger Games just won’t fill you up? Well, The Host may well fill you up, its the latest book to movie adaptation, with Stephenie Meyer (Missus Twilight) behind the book. Andrew Niccol (In Time, Lord Of war, S1m0ne) is on the directorial comeback trail, as this is only the second movie hes directed since 2005 (In Time being his most recent). But he’s got a really solid track record (I rather like S1m0ne) and no doubt Meyer knows how to work her audience.
We’ve just been sent the latest banners for The Host and besides them reminding me of Heroes, they look rather decent, steamy and possibly a bit too futuristic (even though its set in the future). Anyway….
Synopsis: From Stephenie Meyer (author of The Twilight Saga) comes THE HOST, a love story set in the future, where Earth is occupied by a species who erase the minds of their human hosts, leaving their bodies in tact. Melanie Stryder (Saoirse Ronan) is one of the last surviving humans who fights back, risking her life for the people she cares about most – Jared (Max Irons), Ian (Jake Abel), her brother Jamie (Chandler Canterbury) and her uncle Jeb (William Hurt) – proving that love can conquer all.
Released: March 22nd IRE & UK / March 29th USA
