We absolutely loved The Raid here at The Movie Bit, so we are beyond excited for the sequel (known as The Raid 2: Berandal in Indonesia), which begins shooting today. The shoot is expected to last 100 days, and once again the movie is being shot in Jakarta, Indonesia. The movie reunites director Gareth Evans with star Iko Uwais, and picks up right where the first movie left off, following rookie cop Rama (Uwais, but considering the events of the first film, we can safely say he isn't a rookie anymore) going undercover to infiltrate a ruthless crime syndicate in an effort to protect his family, and uncover the corruption in his own police force. If Evans brings even an ounce of the energy he brought to The Raid, The Raid 2 is going to be out of this world!
The movie isn't released till 2014, so it is going to be a very long wait. To tide us over though, we have some behind the scenes image of the first day of shooting.
