Considering it's Ryan Gosling, one of the finest actors of recent years, all eyes are on How To Catch A Monster, his directorial debut. If the name wasn't enough of an indication, this is a macabre, fantastical tale taking in vanishing cities, dark mysteries, and magical under water towns, all the while chronicling a single mother's search for her children. Christina Hendricks and Eva Mendes are already attached to star, and they will now be joined by someone who has alot of experience of dealing with monsters (no matter how shoddily they are brought to life): Doctor Who star, and the current Doctor himself, Matt Smith, who is taking the lead male role. This will no doubt delight a legion of Doctor Who fans (myself included), and bemuse just about everybody else. This will be his second feature role (he starred in British drama Clone with Eva Green, made before he got the Who gig), but his first on the other side of the Atlantic.
